Bryan Lee Nolan
October 1, 1949 - September 21, 2024
Bryan Lee Nolan, a beloved husband, stepfather and brother,
passed away on September 21, 2024, at the age of 74, of Lewy body dementia
at Hoffmann Hospice in Bakersfield, CA. He was born on October 1, 1949, in Burke, South Dakota.
Bryan spent his life deeply involved in his community as a journalist for 20 years and an elementary
school teacher for another 20 years. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Colorado,
in journalism, and an Educational Masters from California State University, Bakersfield.
Bryan leaves behind a loving family: his wife, Pat Nolan, stepdaughter, Mary Colleen McKibben,
stepson, Michael McKibben and sister, Mary Kath Nolan. He was preceded in death by his parents
Margaret and Thomas Nolan, and his brother, Thomas Nolan.
Bryan enjoyed travel. He lived in Germany for two years and traveled to most countries in western Europe, as well as, trips
to Mexico, Israel, Egypt, Ireland and Costa Rica.
He was a big sports fan especially of the Denver Broncos and the Denver Nuggets.
Those who knew him will remember him as kind, loving, caring and protective man who brought joy and care to
everyone he encountered.
