Born on January 2, 1941 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Archie Clarence Vaughn and Alice Mae Gooding. She was the fourth of six children. 

Doris’s life and love was attending NAPD. She went every single day where she enjoyed participating in activities and crafts. She would enter her beautiful creations in the Kern County Fair where she won many ribbons. Doris loved her family and friends and enjoyed when she got to visit with them.

 Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Alice, brother Donnie ,sisters Betty and Donna.

She is survived by one sister, Shirley Kennedy and one brother, Wesley Vaughn and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing for Ms. Doris Mae Vaughn will be Thursday September 17,2026 in the Chapel of Kern River Family Mortuary 1900 N. Chester Ave @ Arvin St, Bakersfield, CA 93308 at 9:00 AM with Service at 10:00 AM. 

Dedication Of The Grave will follow at 12:00 Noon at Tehachapi Public Cemetery Eastside 820 Burnett Rd, Tehachapi, CA 93561
