Jon Ornelas 67, of Bakersfield, California,

passed away peacefully at home on March 15, 2023 with his wife and sons by his side.

Jon, was born March 6th 1956, he was the third child of 7 born to John and Evelyn Ornelas of Bakersfield CA.

Jon is survived by his wife Luisa, his four sons: William, Luis, Jonny, and Andrew, his 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grand children, his 4 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jon graduated from East High School in 1974. He enjoyed working on cars, and worked for many body shops in town. He worked at Valley Olds West, and Eaglesons body works just to name a few. He was meticulous and a perfectionist, when it came to repairing cars especially when it came to bodywork. Jon was an excellent handyman and a true Jack of all trades; he could repair anything that needed fixing. Jon also enjoyed cooking anything and everything, especially treats like cookies and cakes. He enjoyed going to concerts, listening to live music, camping, fishing, walks, hikes and long drives.

Jon loved the outdoors and really enjoyed going on long walks with his friend/wife and love of his life of 43 years, Luisa Ornelas. Jon will be greatly missed but we do get some comfort in knowing you aren’t in any pain anymore.

Jon’s viewing will be held at Alma Funeral Home 2130 East California Ave. Bakersfield, Ca. 93307 on Thursday March 30th from 5:30 to 8:30pm.

Jon’s funeral will follow on Friday March 31st at 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road Bakersfield Ca 93306 at 10am.
