Martha "Jeri" Garcia, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, friend, and source of endless love and laughter, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at the age of 98 in Bakersfield, California.

Jeri lived a life filled with kindness, resilience, and devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank B. Garcia, with whom she shared many wonderful years and built a loving family.

She leaves behind her children, Rick Garcia (Julie), Debi Kiki Alvarez, and Judi Martin (John), as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her unwavering love, quick wit, and generous heart.

Throughout her life, Jeri worked at Thrifty Drugs, Brocks, and Gottschalks, where she was known for her dedication and warm personality. Outside of work, she found great joy in sewing, creating countless handmade treasures that reflected her creativity and care for others.

What truly made Jeri unforgettable was the way she loved. Her unconditional love made everyone around her feel welcome, valued, and cared for. She also had a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room and bring smiles to those who needed them most. Her laughter, warmth, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

As we celebrate Jeri's remarkable 98 years, we give thanks for a life beautifully lived—a life centered on family, compassion, laughter, and love. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her and in the countless memories she leaves behind.

Funeral services celebrating Jeri's life will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church in Bakersfield. Followed by a service at the National Cemetery. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend as they gather to honor and celebrate her extraordinary life.
