Richard Robert Chase

In Loving Memory Of Richard Robert Chase II   Richard (Bob) Chase went to see the Lord on Aug. 21, 2018 after a brave fight with cancer. Bob lived an exciting life.  Surfing with the greats like Dewey Webber, Mike Doyle, Pat Curran & Rich Harbour in Malibu or flying to Hawaii on weekends to surf when he was a teenager.  He even built surfboards for Con Surfboards. He also enjoyed water skiing, golfing, working on cars, barbecuing, watching the Dodgers, Broncos and Race Cars.  Bob loved anything historical about Wars or WWII airplanes. His true passions were music, playing guitars, talking stock market with his father-in-law Ed and crafting overrider bars for 356 Porsches. Bob served in the Navy 2 years active and 4 years reserves, stationed in Hawaii for part of his service.  He was a YN3 COMASWFORPAC. In 1973 he started dating the love of his life and on Valentine’s Day 1979 he married her.  They had two daughters. Bob started his own Porsche repair garage in Reseda and later on moved to Bakersfield to build engines for Roger Mears Racing.       Bob is preceded in death by his parents Bob & Gloria Chase and  great niece Miley Tello.       He is survived by his wife Sharon Chase, daughters Connie Chase and Bobbi (Mike) Grigg, grandchildren Blake Chase and Peyton Grigg, whom he loved dearly. His extended family who he greatly loved, father-in-law Ed Kellum, brother- in laws Mike (Carrie) Kellum, George Kellum, Mark Kellum, sister-in-law Terry Bishop, nephews Jessie, Jake, Michael and Josh Kellum, nieces Liane (Eddie) Moran, Brooke (Adrian) Tello, Melissa (Dominic) De Vera, great nieces Bella & Sofia Moran, Savannah, Jazzlyn and Alexia Tello, Avianna Kellum, Jenna and Giavanna De Vera. His sister Cheryl (Rodger) Griffith, nephews Quin Wise and Cooper (Erin) Wise, great nephews Hudson, Kingston, Atlas and Wells Wise and great niece Coco Wise. Bob will be deeply missed by all our Family, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. In lieu of Flowers Donations can be made to Fairfax Southern Baptist Church 1545 S. Fairfax Rd, Bakersfield, CA 93307
